Budbud Pilipit Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 cups malagkit (glutinous rice)
  • 5 cups coconut milk, first extract
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Banana leaves

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Start by washing the malagkit very well, then drain.
  2. In a wok, combine and cook the malagkit with coconut milk, salt, and sugar then stirring constantly.
  3. When the mixture is almost dry, stir to prevent it from sticking to bottom of wok
  4. To reduce heat, cover mixture with banana leaves for a few minutes.
  5. Wrap 2 tbsp of cooked malagkit in wilted banana leaves.
  6. Tie in pairs, and steam for 30 minutes in a big pot.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
