Easy Lengua With Mushroom Sauce Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lbs lengua
  • 1 cup sliced button mushrooms
  • ¾ cups whipping cream
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 6 cups water (for boiling the lengua)
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, crushed
  • Salt, to taste
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Pour the water in a pressure cooker and let it boil.
  2. Add- in the lengua.
  3. Cover the cooker and pressure cook for 35 to 40 minutes or until tender.
  4. Remove lengua from the pressure cooker and let it cool down.
  5. Peel the outer layer of the lengua and slice into thin pieces.
  6. Pour and heat the cooking oil in a pot.
  7. Saute the onion and garlic.
  8. Add- in the sliced lengua and cook for 2 minutes.
  9. Pour- in the condensed cream of mushroom and beef broth in the pot.
  10. Stir and let it boil.
  11. Cover and simmer for 35 minutes.
  12. Add- in the sliced mushrooms and whipping cream.
  13. Continue to cook for 40 minutes in low heat or until the liquid reduces to half and the sauce starts to thicken.
  14. Add the salt and ground black pepper to taste.
  15. Transfer to a serving plate. Enjoy!
