Pork Adobo With Sitaw Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 & ½ lb pork belly, cut into serving pieces
  • 10 pcs sitaw (string beans), cut into 2″ length pieces
  • 5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 & ½ tbsp vinegar
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 medium onion
  • 5 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 & ½ tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the pork, soy sauce, ground black pepper, and garlic then mix well.
  2. Let the pork soak in the mixture for about 15 minutes.
  3. Heat up oil in a cooking pot.
  4. Sauté the onion until it gets soft.
  5. Add the marinated pork including the remaining soy sauce and garlic.
  6. Cook for 5 minutes in medium heat.
  7. Pour- in the beef broth in the pot and let it boil.
  8. Cook in low heat for 45 minutes or until the pork gets tender (add more water or in case the liquid starts drying out).
  9. Add the vinegar, wait for the liquid to re-boil, the stir.
  10. Put the string beans in the cooking pot and cook for 3 minutes.
  11. Add brown sugar, stir, and cook for another 5 to 8 minutes.
  12. Transfer your pork adobo to a serving bowl and serve, enjoy!
