Crispy Five Spice Spare Ribs Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lbs pork spare ribs, chopped
  • 2 tsp Chinese five spice powder
  • 2 tbsp rice wine
  • 4 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 3 cups cooking oil

HOW TO COOK:

  1. In a bowl, combine ribs, five spice powder, salt, garlic powder, sherry, ground black pepper, and cornstarch.
  2. Mix the ingredients well and marinate for at least 3 hours.
  3. Heat up a deep fryer or cooking pot.
  4. Pour- in the cooking oil.
  5. Divide the marinated ribs into two batches.
  6. When the oil turns hot, deep fry the first batch of marinated ribs for about 8 to 12 minutes.
  7. Remove the first batch of ribs from the fryer and transfer to a plate.
  8. Deep fry the second batch for about 8 to 12 minutes.
  9. Remove the second batch of ribs from the fryer and transfer to a plate.
  10. Deep fry the first batch of ribs again for another 10 minutes or until the texture becomes crispy.
  11. Remove the first batch of ribs from the fryer and transfer to a serving plate lined with paper towels to absorb oil.
  12. Deep fry the second batch of ribs again for another 10 minutes or until the texture becomes crispy.
  13. Remove the second batch from the fryer and transfer to the serving plate with the first batch of ribs. Enjoy!
