Sriracha Chicken Wings Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lb chicken wings
  • ½ cup sriracha sauce
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • Kosher or sea salt, to taste
  • Black peppercorns, freshly cracked, to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for deep frying
  • Cilantro, for garnish
  • Lime wedges, for garnish

HOW TO COOK:

  1. Heat a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add- in the olive oil then stir- in the garlic.
  3. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the garlic is lightly browned.
  4. Stir in the sriracha sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the sauce for about 3 to 5 minutes or until thickened.
  6. Set aside.
  7. Rinse the chicken wings and pat them dry.
  8. Generously season the chicken with salt and black pepper.
  9. Dredge the wings in flour, shaking off any excess flour, and set aside.
  10. In a large saucepan or deep fryer, heat the oil to about 375 F or 190 C.
  11. Fry the chicken wings in small batches until golden brown pr 8 to 10 minutes.
  12. Shake off any excess oil and place on paper towels to drain.
  13. Continue frying the chicken in batches until all of the wings are cooked.
  14. Toss the wings in the Sriracha sauce and garnish with cilantro and lime wedges. Enjoy!
