Szechuan Ginger Beef Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 500 g sirloin beef, cut into thick strips
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup carrot, grated
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh ginger, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup spring onion, chopped
  • 4 tbsp oil

For the Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp red wine
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • A pinch of chili flakes

HOW TO COOK:

  1. In a bowl, beat the eggs and mix with the beef.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and water.
  3. Add- in the cornstarch and water mixture into the beef then stir well.
  4. Pour and heat the oil in a wok.
  5. When oil is very hot, add- in half of the beef, stirring until crispy, and transfer to a plate.
  6. Repeat with the remaining beef, and then transfer to the plate set aside and drain oil.
  7. Reheat wok to hot with oil.
  8. Stir fry vegetables and spices over high heat until fragrant.
  9. Add- in the sauce and bring to boil until it thickens.
  10. Add the beef, mix well to combine and coat.
  11. Transfer to serving plate. Enjoy!
