INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 ⅓ cup (180 g or 6.35 oz) all-purpose flour
  • ¾ tsp (6 g) baking soda
  • ¼ bar small size processed cheddar cheese (Eden, Quez-O, Cheezee)
  • 250 g/ 9 oz (1 cup + 1/3 tbsp) yogurt (Greek or plain)

For the coating:

  • ⅛ cup (25 g or 1 oz) white sugar

HOW TO MAKE:

  1. Preparing the cheese:Cut the cheese into small cubes. About 1 cm in size or depending on the size you want your donuts to be.
  2. Preparing the donut mixture:In a mixing bowl, put in the flour and baking soda and mix well. Then add in the yogurt, and continue to mix until everything is incorporated well.
  3. Shaping the donut:Put oil in your hands and in your scooping spoon to avoid the mixture from sticking. Scoop in the mixture according to the desired size, then put in a cheese cube in the middle. Shape and enclose it into a ball. Do this for the rest of the mixture.
  4. Deep frying the donut:Heat up a cooking pot with oil. When the oil starts to boil, put in the donuts. Just fry until golden brown then quickly remove from the oil. Let it cool for a bit and remove any excess oil.
  5. Serving/ coating:Sprinkle donuts with sugar until fully coated then serve.
